about

In the great Melbournian diaspora following the declaration of the People’s Republic of Victoria, the Sons of Lee Marvin had finally downed tools and put away our oxen and ploughshares because our work was done and paradise was near.

We retired to our land to raise our children, we travelled onward as journeymen to carry our seeds far and wide: and yet, there was one last missive for the masses in us.

Is it a fathers wisdom, or a sons idealism? Is it a cautionary tale or a folding RACV roadmap to contentment? Produced by the legendary Jimmy C and Wes Fahey combination, the seventeenth and maybe the last SOLM album is all of these things and more.

Perhaps it is for the now, perhaps it’s true value will be marvelled at in future millenia like an Antipodean Antikythera.

Will the circle be unbroken? By and by, lord, by and by.

But this circle of long playing vinyl goes out with fondness and gratitude as a love letter to our families and friends; to the Good Fight, and to the city that will always be our home.
